Al Anderson is the founder of Rival Sports Media and Philly Photo & Philm, built from a lifelong connection to sports, service, and community. Growing up, Al’s life was shaped by athletics, playing baseball, football, hockey, and lacrosse, while also becoming a loyal fan of Philadelphia sports.

Before becoming a business owner, Al spent more than 20 years serving as both a volunteer firefighter and police officer. His career included deployment to Seaside Heights for Hurricane Sandy relief and recovery, as well as recognition for lifesaving actions, distinguished service, and honorable mentions throughout his time in both fire and law enforcement.

After suffering a significant injury during a foot chase with a robbery suspect, Al was forced to retire early from the careers he loved. That transition came during one of the most difficult seasons of his life, as he worked to redefine his purpose while also facing the loss of his father and his dog. Rather than step away from serving others, Al found a new way forward through entrepreneurship.

Rival Sports Media was born from that same sense of purpose. After seeing how long, stressful, and disorganized traditional media days could be for athletes, parents, coaches, and organizations, Al set out to build something better: a smoother, faster, more professional experience that delivers quality images, strong customer service, and fundraising opportunities for schools and sports organizations.

Today, as a husband, father, coach, and business owner, Al continues to lead with the same values that carried him through sports, fire service, law enforcement, and recovery: perseverance, accountability, sacrifice, and service to others. Through Rival Sports Media, he is committed to helping athletes, families, schools, and organizations capture meaningful moments while creating opportunities for others to grow.
